My name is Nick Poyner, the founder of Progress Hypnotherapy.

As an experienced hypnotherapist, trained by world leading authorities on clinical hypnosis Freddy and Anthony Jacquin, I can help you achieve your goals and live a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life.


You may already know me by my other passion . . . music. With over 20 years’ experience as a touring session musician, I have had the privilege of witnessing the ups and downs of the human experience.

Through my journey, I have developed a deep understanding of the complexities of the mind and the importance of finding alternative therapies to navigate life’s challenges. Also, as an experienced coach and mentor for more than a decade, I have dedicated my career to guiding individuals towards self-improvement and personal growth.

So why specialise in habits like smoking and alcohol use, phobias like performance anxiety and health, weight loss and positive body image?

Throughout my years as a touring musician, I have witnessed the detrimental effects these issues can have on the health, careers and the personal relationships (myself included at times!) of some of the most incredibly talented and amazing individuals I have had the privilege to work with. These experiences have really fuelled my desire to make a difference in the world and to help people overcome these damaging and all too often life-limiting habits.

In my own personal journey, I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. The stress on the body of living with this condition undiagnosed for so long was that great it lead to me having a heart attack in my 30’s! (I know … I don’t look it do I?). All of these experiences have given me a unique perspective on the struggles many face in finding effective solutions for anxieties, phobias and impulsive/addictive behaviours. This firsthand experience has also allowed me to develop a profound empathy and understanding for those seeking support.

I take a personalised approach to each client, tailoring my techniques to your specific needs and goals. I provide a safe, open, supportive and fun environment where you will feel comfortable and confident as you embark on your journey to lasting, effective change.
